James Donaldson also known as Mr. Beast started his youtube career in 2012 which was able to generate millions of views and dollars for his charity work, finally blowing up in 2017.
However, his success can no longer be enjoyed because grooming allegations against his co-host Ava Tyson, originally directed at him, have put his brand underwater.
Other youtubers have accused Tyson of sending inappropriate messages to a 13 year old when she was 20 eight years ago. After Tyson’s transition in 2023 her appearances on Mr. Beast have been less common but that did not stop him from claiming that Tyson’s behavior was “disgusting.”
The law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan hired by Mr. Beast and his company said after reviewing over 4 million documents from emails and phones as well as conducting at least 39 interviews of former and current employees that there has been no substantial evidence that the allegations are true.
MHS student, Jasmine Smith, expresses her thoughts on the subject.
“I feel relieved because for the past few years multiple youtubers and influencers have been charged with these accusations and many of them have been true so i’m glad that this is false.” Smith said when I questioned her about the allegations.
Defamation of character is very harmful to anyone but in particular to those who have a platform and use it for good. Hopefully Mr. Beast will be able to rebuild his brand ad get the general public to believe in him once more.
