Manchester High School’s football team is currently undefeated coming back even harder than last year with the win of our first three home games!
Our season after the pandemic was admittedly not our best one. However, we are now beating all odds because of our team’s new improvement, indicating that this season will be one of our best. “These guys worked hard all summer.” Roberts stated.
“The Manchester High School football team has improved its game stats significantly from the 2023-2024 school year compared to the previous year with winning seven out of eleven games as opposed to only winning three.” According to Maxpreps.com.
Football player, Curtis Edwards, further discusses the team’s success.
Edwards has been on the Manchester High School football team for four years now and has been a three year varsity star and Mr. Roberts describes him as being one of those players who want to be great and is actively putting that work in.
“I think we have improved in a way that we have a lot more people this year who, like want to be great.” Edwards reiterates.
“A lot of guys do extra training sessions with outside coaches or with coach Burgos, also summer. While everybody’s out at the pool, hanging out, chilling, our guys were here working, running, lifting, going to passing league, going to camp, because they-they really felt they wanted to do something good for the school and themselves.” Roberts shared when I asked what work have the guys been putting in to advance our team.
According to Roberts the boys did spring passing league starting in early March and ended in May along with them doing extra sports and workouts, then as soon as school ended they were doing four days a week training, and two days a week passing late.
With the last three wins of our football team Manchester High School students and faculty are both excited to see what they do next. Make this another great year for the RedHawks!
